One of the reasons Mountain Avenue is the great school it is, stems from our terrific and many volunteers. Your help is needed too! Here is a brief explanation of some of the volunteers needed at Mountain. Please find something you'd like to help with and... volunteer!

MACK GOLF TOURNAMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Help is needed in the organizing and planning of this event. Sponsors, poster makers, prize solicitors, decorators, golfers are also needed each year. Click here to volunteer: MACK Golf Tournament.
 
MACK MOVIE NIGHT OPPORTUNITIES

MACK PARENTS' NITE OUT OPPORTUNITIES
Tons of volunteers help to make this night an fun evening for all! Please volunteer to help, lots of hands are needed to... solicite donations, collect basket items, wrap baskets, organize class projects, design invitations and programs, decorate the event, coordinate the auction, money board and opportunity drawings, computer inputting, helping that evening with greeting and selling, setup and cleanup, name tags, balloons, stuff and address invitations, organize the entertainment, collect responses and so much more! CLASSROOM VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Room Parent - Coordinates classroom activities with the teacher and the parents such as, parent volunteers, school activities, field trips and parties.

Classroom Volunteers - This job is for those parents that want to help in the classroom. The teacher will set up a schedule. You can volunteer to help once a week, every other week, or even once a month.

Volunteers to Take Home Special Projects - Sometimes the teachers need help with something that can be taken home. If you can do that, then this is the job for you.

Field Trip Driver - You will be called by the room parent to see if you will be available to drive a group of students on a field trip. (This does not mean you need to drive on every field trip.) To drive on a field trip you must fill out a Field Trip Driver Form every year.

Parties - You will be asked to bring something for a class party. Class parties are usually held before the winter holidays, on Valentine's Day and at the end of the school year.

Computer Lab - Working in the computer lab means going to the clasroom at a prearranged time, either 1/2 hour for primary grades or 40 minutes for upper grades, and helping the children with the computers. No experience necessary. See specific class sign-up sheets for day and time for your child's class.

Teacher Appreciation Coffee - Each month a different grade level prepares treats for the staff. If you sign up you are agreeing to bring an item for the coffee.

Art Instruction Volunteers - Art volunteers will teach an art lesson (the lesson plan and materials will be provided for you) or help the art teacher as needed. They will help supervise and encourage students during class. They will help set up for class and clean up after. No art experience is necessary.

Music Docent - This person takes a music lesson from the PTA's Music Docent program and presents that lesson to the class at a prearranged time between the teacher and yourself. There are up to 5 lessons for each grade level for the year. You can do as many as you want or as little (some is better than none. No music experience is necessary.

HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL

Baked Goods - Sign up here to volunteer to bring a baked good for the bake sale.

Class Booth Help - This means you are willing to work a 1 hour shift in your child's classroom booth. Older siblings are welcomed to signup for this too!

Set-up, Clean-up, Haunted House - Sign up if you can spare even an hour to help set up or clean up at the Carnival or help build the Haunted House. High School sibling volunteers are welcome too.

Do you love your digital camera and find yourself attending many events at Mountain Avenue? Assist us in keeping our website's photo album's up-to-date by taking photos and writing desciptions of school events. Click here to volunteer: Photographer/Reporter

 
OTHER EVENTS

Mountain Avenue is a busy place! We always have something going on. Contact MACK to help with their Membership and President's Drives. PTA can use help with Red Ribbon Week, Reflections, Founder's Day and Field Day. Let the school office know if you can help with Traffic Safety and Directing Traffic, Chorus, Instrumental Music or Spirit Squad. When everyone helps, all our kids benefit from tons of fun and educational activites and events.
